Wilga Park Malaynee under saddle - started by David Grace Level 4 Parelli Trainer and Instructor.  Dressage training with Helena Shanal.  

Wilga Park Malaynee is a pure Morgan mare rising 5. started by David Grace Parelli Level 4 Instructor Trainer  Aug/Sep 2008. She is progressing beautifully using Parelli methods for her start and incorporating it into her dressage training, which is adhering to the traditional German Training Scale.  This has been very successful. Everything is learned on the ground and is then taken to the saddle. She is a "Left Brain Extrovert" and our pride and joy. She never lets us be complacent, or boring.

Helena Shanal "Successful Strides Inc. has responsible for her training program in relation to dressage, and I continue to progress Malaynee with her Parelli training.  This relationship is proving to be very interesting, as both Helena and I find the differences and the similarities between the two training methods and work together to ensure they dont confuse and frustrate her.

Malaynee has been champion mare in all her Led Classes - and has for the past year, endeared herself in the ridden classes where she has beaten some very seasoned Morgans.

Malaynee has also recently proven herself out "bush bashing (first real trail ride) - where she was happy to be ridden around a 500 acre paddock with heaps of trees, kangaroos and a lovely big rocky hill to climb.  She never hesitated - she jumped everything in front of her and cantered trotted and walked on request on a loose rein. Even when a kangaroo jumped out from beside her, she never missed a beat.. she looked and kept going.  I love her attitude and willingness to take on new adventures.  I would dearly love to take her out mustering cattle in the high country where she could really enjoy herself.  She's so sure footed. 

Three Weeks ago Malaynee took her place at the Brisbane Exhibition for the day, and won many hearts.  She performed perfectly in the ridden component, and then snuggled up to all the children to get pats and rubs from as many as possible before she went back to her stall.

Two weeks later she took out the Champion Pure Morgan Mare at the Cold Coast Show.

Malaynee is now going to retire for a year or so, to breed.  We all look forward to that time, however, I can't wait to when we can go out chasing rainbows again.
